Wedding Bells

Luann called for cookies for a bridal shower. It is a beach wedding and the color is robin egg blue. She wanted the brides and grooms and something beachy and blue. So seashells came to mind. Hope you like them!

I Think I Can

Bake 300 cookies in a day...and I did!!!

This photo shows less than half though. In case you'd like to try this at home, here's the recipe:

30 sticks butter
15 cups sugar
15 eggs
15 tsp. vanilla
45 cups flour
22.5 tsp. baking powder
7.5 tsp. salt

Beachy

I've invited a bunch of friends to the beach next weekend and made these to share. I'm looking forward to a calm, quiet, no jet skiing, no eating, no Emporer island, no swimming, alcohol-free day. OK, so only the friends and beach part are true!

OMG!

I love these!! They are the prettiest cookie I've made in a long time. They also bring back memories--memories of how this whole cookie thing started. Joan volunteered to make hibiscus cookie favors for her niece's wedding and enlisted the help of a few friends (one of them being yours truly). From what I remember, we made about 150. I would love to see a photo of those, just to see how far we have come in our cookie decorating skills.

So Joan, my challenge to you (since you obviously haven't been making cookies, okay, I'll cut you some slack--just not blogging pictures),--find photos of those cookies! I'd love to see them.

Cindy ordered these for her daughter's bridal shower, I think she chose perfect colors, they go so well together.

These are just few of the 30 cookies ordered for an anniversary celebration; plus I made a few singles for me to give to some of my favorite cookie lovers :)

Unisex

Hazel is throwing a baby shower and ordered these as favors. I love the green and yellow as the sex of the baby is not yet known.

I knew the sex of my three children before they were born, as I had to have a plan--the room, the clothes...

I was told my first born was a girl at 20 and 40 weeks. I had the cutest pink bunny room and the most adorable little girl outfits. I delivered a bouncing baby boy (yes, with all of his boy parts), I'll just say technology wasn't as good 20 years ago as it is today.

Hazel, thanks for your donation to The Childrens Inn at NIH. These cookies are much cuter in person, I'm at terrible photographer.

Engagement Party

Terri thought engagement rings would be nice for her daughter's engagement party. So we found pictures on the internet and really weren't impressed. We just didn't like the look of the rings. She decided on the tux and gowns (perfect--since her daughter's colors are black and white).

Just for the heck of it, I had to try my hand at a few rings too. I have one word to describe them--UGLY. We made a good choice.

Misc.

Catching up:

Everything pink for Megan's Relay for Life team.

Bee's summer bouquets, and yes, they are in the freezer as it's 100 degrees out. Anyone notice all of that delicious rockfish underneath?

Allie's graduation cookies. No she's not graduating from high school or college, it's preschool graduation for my favorite 4 year old!

Happiness is...

Summertime and cookies for a friend!!!!

Once in a while I donate cookies to a good cause of someone else. These are for Bee; she'll be selling them to raise money for someone in need. They make great end of the year teacher gifts, graduation gifts, or just to have to celebrate summer.

Welcome to the Nation's Capital

Mary's son is a teacher in Atlanta is bringing about a dozen students to DC for an event next weekend. What better way to welcome them than with cookies! We decided on the capitol dome and American flag, one of each individally bagged for their enjoyment.

Easter cookies

Picture the traditional white Easter Bunny and some pretty pink tulips! My pictures turned out awful! I will try again later...
