Shannon and Dan

I made these custom cookies for treats in the hotel baskets of guests at Shannon and Dan's wedding. The flower is an edelweiss (I've included my inspiration photo). The groom's grandfather makes wood carvings of these flowers.

I just wish I was a better photographer, my pics don't do them justice.

Fun Flowers!

Kathy was taking her daughter's girl scout troop to host a birthday party at a women's shelter. She asked for bouquets to take to the birthday girls.

Lily's Hope at Cedar Grove

My friend, Monica, recently told me that one of her fellow teachers had taken a leave of absence to care for her daughter, Lily, who is undergoing chemotherapy. She TOLD me that we were going to walk in a fundraiser on the family's behalf in November. OK, I don't mind walking--but why walk when you can make cookies!!!!!

So here's the deal: The total purchase price of cookies ordered from any staff member at Cedar Grove goes to "Lily's Hope". If you'd like to order, contact us by e-mail, tell us what you'd like and we'll give you the price (prices vary based on size and design). We prefer two weeks notice on all orders, but it never hurts to ask if we can do something sooner. We also usually have cookies stockpiled in the freezer for holidays, so sometimes you can get those at a moments notice. It just so happens I have more of the flowers pictured at the top in the freezer, available for immediate delivery.

I know teachers get tired of the apple theme, but I'm sure they won't mind the apple cookies as samples, cute and delicious.

Thanks to Lee for the very first donation to Lily's Hope; he ordered the "bounce back" bouquet. And no, he doesn't qualify to win the contest (the first person to place an order wins the flower bouquet), as his order was placed before the contest started. But...he could be the first person to place an order after the contest was announced!

OMG!

I love these!! They are the prettiest cookie I've made in a long time. They also bring back memories--memories of how this whole cookie thing started. Joan volunteered to make hibiscus cookie favors for her niece's wedding and enlisted the help of a few friends (one of them being yours truly). From what I remember, we made about 150. I would love to see a photo of those, just to see how far we have come in our cookie decorating skills.

So Joan, my challenge to you (since you obviously haven't been making cookies, okay, I'll cut you some slack--just not blogging pictures),--find photos of those cookies! I'd love to see them.

Cindy ordered these for her daughter's bridal shower, I think she chose perfect colors, they go so well together.

Happy Anniversary

These are just few of the 30 cookies ordered for an anniversary celebration; plus I made a few singles for me to give to some of my favorite cookie lovers :)

Happpy Birthday Patty

When Myrta asked on Thursday if I could make a birthday bouquet for Monday, I told her totally impossible unless they could be fall colors as I was planning on starting my fall decorating. So these are what I came up with. A bouquet for the birthday girl and minis to share with guests.

Thanks for your donation to Operation Second Chance.

Any Occasion Bouquet

Nina ordered two flower bouquets, one as a "Thinking of You" and the other as a "Thank You". I especially like the watering can. I'll be on the lookout for more of those.

I have a few more of these flowers in the freezer, perfect for any occasion.

Spring Has Sprung!

Oh how I wish it were true.

When Mindy asked for spring flowers we had 50 inches of snow on the ground, so I was more than willing to bring some spring into our lives. I hope her team enjoys this nice "change of scenery".

In The Freezer

I was decorating some birthday cookies for a Ravens fan (check later this week for that photo) and just used the same icing for these.

They are in the freezer if anyone needs them--the perfect all occasion cookie!

Any Occasion

I made these (and a few others just like them) to have on hand for any occasion.
They are in the freezer and available for purchase. I also have some blank cookies to personalize if you want to include a message with your bouquet--thank you, get well, happy birthday, welcome back to school :), it's always a good thing to butter up the teacher on the first day!

Speaking of school, in case you haven't noticed, we've changed our causes. Since we have seniors this year, one of our good causes is Damascus High School Post Prom.

In the Freezer

Our cookies are made in advance and then frozen. Sometimes we have cookies in the freezer that aren't spoken for. This is one of those times. These are perfect for birthdays, thank you, teacher appreciation or house warming. Within minutes they can be popped into a container and brighten someone's day!

Killing Two (or three) Birds With One Stone

I had an order for red and black graduation cookies and for a bouquet of flowers (color of my choice). The cookies were easy to bake at the same time (same dough, different cutters). Icing is another story--making a bunch of different colors is time consuming. I decided to make things easy on myself and came up with these.

Admistrative Professionals Day

I made these for my favorite school secretaries--Dawn, Cheryl, Judy and Chris. Thanks for all you do!
