UFOs

Since I'm always looking for something new and exciting to decorate, I agreed to make UFO cookies for my nephew's birthday. I think the little green man really makes the cookie.

Happy birthday Marshall!!!!!!!!!!

25 Done!

We're celebrating DH's 25th year on the police department this evening. Food, friends, cocktails, cakepops and cookies--it doesn't get much better than that.

Cookies by me, cakepops by Joan of course. If you notice a cakepop missing in the picture, it wasn't Ally that took it!

Luck of the Irish

Thanks Kara for this St. Patrick's Day order and for your donation to The Children's Inn at NIH (our new cause).

I received my first order for spring cookies--can't wait to decorate those, I think we're all ready for spring.

Festivus for the Rest of Us

A few of us get together tonight for our annual Festivus celebration. If you aren't familiar with this holiday, Google it, Seinfeld made it popular. We'll start the evening by airing our grievances (yes, to each other, and I hope we are all still friends afterward). Followed by food, cocktails and feats of strength (adults leg wrestling--a sight to be seen).

Our only decoration for the evening is an aluminum pole. I tried to put an aluminum pole on the cookies and DH said it looked like a hatchet or a male body part. So I ended up with something simple.

Another Birthday

This time the birthday girl is much younger though. I made this for Fiona. I had to include her name on them, she has a hard time finding items that are personalized.

Black and White

Just like in OLD movies!

Thanks for your order Mary, hope your sister likes them and somehow gets a payback!

Snow Days!!!!

We're on our second snow day (and I'm thinking maybe a third tomorrow), which allows for extra "cookie time". Kyle asked for these for his mom's engagement party. He said just a winter theme would be good. So snowmen and hearts it was with the picture taken in the snow.

More Pink and White

These are for a beautiful baby girl's christening next month. Thanks for your order Alice.

I'll be getting away from the pink and white soon. I've got a lot of cookies baked that need to be iced--black and white birthday, teal and white engagement, and purple birthday and valentine. Oh, and most importantly--Festivus!!!! Yes, complete with the aluminum pole. Stay tuned...

Order Soon

With only 27 shopping days left until Valentine's Day, I wanted to remind everyone to order soon!

This is my first round of valentine baking. I wanted something in addition to the hearts, so I threw in the cupcakes and like them. No easy pink and white for my next round, have to go with red--a cookie decorator's nightmare! Stay tuned for a valentine bouquet and a new cause.

Replacement Cookie Partner

NO, I DID NOT FIRE JOAN!!!! Who would make cakepops for me :)

I replaced my old rolling pin. My wonderful husband got me this rolling pin for Christmas (no, he didn't come up with the idea on his own--I provided him with the photo and told him where to shop). This thing is amazing. It has three thickness settings that are very easy to change. I always "guessed" at cookie thickness and my cookies came out uneven. They are now perfect--all the same thickness.

In case you'd like to try it--it's a Joseph Joseph and costs around $20.00. My DH shopped at the local Williams Sonoma, but it can be bought on-line too.

Bread, Milk, Toilet Paper

and COOKIES of course!

There's talk of a snowstorm here this week, so I made these in hopes of a few "snow days". I'm not real happy with the shape of the mittens, but I love the snowmen--plain and simple.

If I do get a "snow day" or two :) off this week, does anyone need cookies? I'll probably have some baking time.

10-4

Just when I thought I couldn't decorate another cookie, with so much shopping, decorating and wrapping to do...but how do I turn down such a special request for soon to be police academy graduates. These were made with lots of love!
