10-4

Just when I thought I couldn't decorate another cookie, with so much shopping, decorating and wrapping to do...but how do I turn down such a special request for soon to be police academy graduates. These were made with lots of love!

Happy Holidays

Done, finished--no more cookies to decorate before Christmas. Well, at least not until someone asks us to make a very special design...stay tuned.

Bet you were expecting Santa, weren't you? His colors, but it's Lightning McQueen. Debbie ordered these for her boys who are having a Cars themed birthday party.

The First of Many

When I told Joan I had an order for 100 Christmas cookies that were to be delivered before Thanksgiving, she replied, "Don't you remember, we don't sell Christmas cookies"! Of course I didn't remember or I wouldn't have promised the next 70 I had orders for. Come to find out though, she's taken a few orders herself.

Anyway, I've turned down quite a few orders (sorry cookie fans), we like to have time to do our more traditional cookie baking.

This little guy went off to his annual trip to Smith Island with 99 of his closest cookie friends. The cancer ribbons were a personal touch, just for Bee.

The Boys of Fall

Laura, one of our biggest fans, ordered football cookies for her son's end-of-year party via e-mail. I was baking acorns, so to make life easier, baked the footballs at the same time. I knew since both were brown, decorating would go a lot faster.

As we talked on the phone one day, Laura mentioned when she'd like to pick up her football bouquet. Bouquet? I never even thought to put them on sticks. Being the good sport she is, she said it didn't matter. Being determined to please one of my favorite customers, I knew I had to add sticks. I little icing to act like glue on the back did the trick, not too pleasing to the eye, but delicious! I told one of my kids it was white glue, it's non-toxic you know--edible. I still haven't told him that I was just kidding.

Fall Foliage

I think I made a million fall cookies this year. I'd say this fall collection is one of our biggest sellers. Thanks to everyone for their donations.

More baby!

Cake pops for sale? Not usually!! Since cake pops need to be made at the last minute, it is not something that I can say yes to very often. It depends on my work schedule. It did put a different spin on all the baby cookies that Audrey and I are making. Hope everyone at the shower enjoys them!

Something in the Water

Three baby girl orders in one week, there must be something in the water! Joan has a baby order too, including cake pops. I believe that the colors are green and brown--boy or girl? Guess we'll have to wait for her post to see.

Happpy Birthday Patty

When Myrta asked on Thursday if I could make a birthday bouquet for Monday, I told her totally impossible unless they could be fall colors as I was planning on starting my fall decorating. So these are what I came up with. A bouquet for the birthday girl and minis to share with guests.

Thanks for your donation to Operation Second Chance.

Halloweeniest!

I was late getting ready for Halloween this year...so Audrey baked all the cookies. I decided to make a neighborhood favorite---cake pops!

Ween

I had to put the ween in Halloween myself. Joan is very busy preparing for her annual Halloween party--lots of good eats, chocolate covered pretzels, and cocktails of course.

Hallo

Hoping Joan provides the ween!

Pink Ribbons

Cookies in a jar are the newest fad in cookie decorating; I've been waiting to try them myself. I'm sold! The possibilities are endless. I'm quite pleased with how these turned out. We're now in the market for cheap cookie jars. This jar is one of eight that Joan and I found at a yard sale--deal of the day!

These are for my friend Bee who is all too familiar with the symbolism of pink ribbons.

Operation Second Chance

I made these for our current good cause, Operation Second Chance. They are having an event this weekend and asked for something patriotic. The hearts and stars look nice plated together.

90!

Kitty is turning 90!

Her daughter describes her as an avid reader, hospital volunteer, bridge player, and has a heart of gold.

This was one of those orders that I was free to make whatever I wanted. So I thought I would incorporate some books into the bunch. Thanks Kerry for your repeat business.

Cuter Than A Cookie

Is it okay to use a gift before you give it? Well, I just browsed through it and took a few pictures, didn't leave any stains.

Bakerella (www.bakerella.com) just released this book and I knew the minute I saw it I had to get it for Joan. I am cake pop challenged, she's a pro. There are some really cute ideas in the book, lots of tips too--maybe if I follow a few I can get better at cake popping. With Halloween and Christmas approaching, I thought I would share my two favorite ideas from the book. I hope someone makes them for me :)

Bringing up baby!

Someone I work with wanted to take cookies for her daugter's baby shower. Her theme is pink and brown. These cookies made it safely on a plane from here to Oklahoma(carried on of course!)

Birthday cookies!

My favorite 4 year old wanted princess dresses to take to her school for her birthday. I came up with a variation of our wedding dress cookies for her in Cinderella blue of course! The boys needed something other than dresses so cupcakes it was.

Apples for the teacher!

My friend(who is a teacher) wanted these for the teachers at her school. I love their little personalities!

Nice Meeting You

We have many cookie fans that we never get to meet. Our friend and neighbor, Pam, has delivered lots of cookies to the nurses at SGAH, so I never had the pleasure of meeting some of our biggest fans. That changed last week when I became a patient of theirs. I made these to thank the staff for their excellent care.

It was nice meeting everyone, hope I don't see you again :)

Ship Happens!

My daughter is leaving for Shippensburg University in August. We had a "Ship you off to Shippensburg" Party for her in lieu of the traditional graduation party. We had great weather and great fun surrounded by friends and family.

Catch of the Day

New, quick and simple were what I was thinking when I decided to make these for a beach party we are hosting this weekend. I wanted to do something besides beachballs, sunshines, flip flops and starfish. Now I just have to come up with a cocktail to match!

Crab Feast

These are a nice cookie compliment to a crab feast Anna is hosting for friends. I made the "button cookies" to help break up the color of all that red. I'm happy with the way they turned out. As you can tell, I couldn't quite figure out how I'd platter them, I'll leave that up to Anna.

Say Yes to the Dress

Have you ever seen that show? It's one of those I sometimes watch and don't understand why I wasted an hour. Anyway, these remind me of that show, just without the annoying friends, realtives and bridezillas.

Thanks to Kim for your order, and to Laura for keeping me company during this decorating session.

Fourth of July Cookies

I was going for fireworks when I made these cookies. Some people have said they are tye dye stars. Either way, they work to celebrate the 4th of July. Thanks to Tatyana for ordering these cookies. They were FUN to make!

More Red, White and Blue

These seem to be the colors of late, and I can't imagine why :)

Laura ordered the sailboats just to have around as she and her family sail on the Chesapeake Bay. The flags are part of a 4th of July order...more to come.
